YBhg Dato’ Zaiviji Ismail Bin Abdullah was appointed to the Board of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad on 14 July 2026. He brings more than 40 years of experience in corporate governance, strategic leadership, business transformation and operational excellence across the energy, aviation, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors.

He currently serves on the Boards of Malaysian Aviation Group (MAG), Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) and TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd (GenCo). He also Chairs several infrastructure investment companies in India under the UEM Group Berhad portfolio, where he oversees strategic highway investments and supports long-term business sustainability in India.

Previously, Dato’ Zaiviji was the:

1. Chairman of Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad (CIMA) from 2018 to 2025, where he led the company’s transformation and strengthened its business performance. He was appointed to the CIMA Board in 2012.
2. Industry Fellow of University Sains Malaysia from 2023 to 2025.
3. Board member of UEM Group Bhd from 2011 to 2018.
4. Board EXCO Chairman and Board Member of UEM Builders Bhd from 2012 to 2016.
5. PLUS International Expressways Bhd from 2012 to 2016.
6. Board Exco Chairman and Board Member of TIME Engineering Bhd from 2012 to 2013.

Prior to joining Khazanah’s team of Nominated Directors, Dato’ Zaiviji spent more than 22 years with Shell, holding various leadership roles including international assignments in Oman and Pakistan. He was amongst the very few Malaysians appointed as a Country Chairman outside Malaysia and was the first Asian expatriate to serve as Chairman of Shell Companies in Pakistan. During his tenure as Chairman and Managing Director of Shell Pakistan Limited, he led strategic initiatives to enhance organisational effectiveness and operational performance. He had also served on several Boards in both Pakistan and Oman.

Dato’ Zaiviji holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Cranfield University, United Kingdom, and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). He had also completed executive leadership and corporate governance programmes at INSEAD and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
