Gurmeet Kaur brings over 20 years of expertise in audit, governance, and organisational excellence to her role as Chief of the Internal Audit Division at Prasarana Malaysia Berhad. Under her leadership, internal audit practices have been transformed though the implementation of an Audit Management System to enhance efficiency, the execution of process-based audits for in-depth coverage and the adoption of the COSO methodology—a globally recognised framework for improving governance, risk management, and internal controls.

Gurmeet plays a vital role in enhancing governance and accountability, overseeing strategic audit planning, presenting critical insights to the Board, and collaborating with law enforcement agencies. She has driven impactful initiatives, including fraud investigations and performance improvement projects, which have strengthened Prasarana’s governance standards.

Prior to joining Prasarana, Gurmeet excelled at Malaysia Airlines Berhad, where she spearheaded initiatives to improve operational efficiency, contributing to significant savings. Her achievements earned her the prestigious STAR AWARD from the Audit Board Committee.

A Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), ABMS Lead Auditor, and Associate Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (Malaysia), Gurmeet is also pursuing her Doctorate in Business Administration.
