Encik Idzqandar Abu Bakar joined Prasarana group on 16th June 2022 as the Group Chief Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Sustainable Development Officer.

Prior to joining Prasarana, Idzqandar spent the last 30 years in the oil and gas industry with the Shell group, both within and outside Malaysia upon his graduation in 1992.

Graduating from Bradford University in UK in Civil & Structural engineering, he started off as a structural engineer with Sarawak Shell Berhad before moving to many other roles within Technical Discipline, Operations & Maintenance, Project Services, HSE (Health, Safety & Environment), Projects and Quality.

Amongst the leadership roles he has undertaken were as HSE Manager for Deepwater Projects Asia Pacific, Subsea Project Manager for Shell Malaysia first Deepwater project, General Manager for Quality Asia Pacific and finally as the Global Head for Quality & Suppliers’ Performance at Shell Technology Centre in Bangalore, India.
