Datuk Ir. Khairil Anwar Ahmad was appointed as a member of the Board in May 2024 and serves as Chairman of Prasarana RTS Operations Sdn Bhd and RTS Operations Pte Ltd. and Director of Prasarana Integrated Development Sdn Bhd.

He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, currently serving as a Senior Independent Non-Executive Director at SP Setia Berhad and as an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He is also an  Independent Director of UTM Holdings Sdn Bhd and the Chairman of UTMH Specialist Hospital Sdn Bhd.

Beginning his career in 1985 with Lembaga Letrik Negara (LLN), Datuk Khairil progressed through diverse roles in project management, construction, property development, banking, and engineering consultancy.

In 2007, he joined Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB), a Khazanah Nasional Berhad subsidiary, holding various leadership roles including CEO of EduCity@Iskandar and MD/CEO of Medini Iskandar Malaysia. His tenure culminated as President/CEO of IIB, retiring in 2022. During his tenure at IIB, he also served as a Director on the Boards of several companies namely JV’s with EPF, Sunway Group, Mitsui & Co. and Mubadala Group. 

He has furthered his expertise through executive programs at Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Business School, Judge Business School at Cambridge University, and IMD Switzerland. Datuk Khairil holds a BSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an MBA from the University of Strathclyde, and an honorary Doctor of Civil Law from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne.
