Ir. Dr. Tan Yean Chin was appointed to Prasarana’s Board in July 2020, bringing extensive engineering expertise. He chaired the Board Sustainability, Health, Safety, and Environment Committee from 2021 to 2024 and the Board Tender Committee from 2023 to 2024.

He is a Professional Engineer and Accredited Checker (Geotechnical) registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). He is also a registered ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE), APEC Engineer, and International Professional Engineer (IPEA).

A prominent leader in the engineering community, Ir. Dr. Tan served as Secretary General of the Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP) (2008 – 2024) and as President of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) from (2016 – 2018). He is an Honorary Fellow of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (AFEO) and the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM); and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE, UK) and ASEAN Academy of Engineering & Technology (AAET). In recognition of his contributions to the engineering profession, he was honoured in 2024 with the prestigious international awards of “FEIAP Engineer of the Year 2024” from FEIAP, and the “Distinguished Friend of Africa Engineering Award – Gold Class” from the Federation of African Engineering Organisations (FAEO).

He is the Co-Founder and Director of G&P Professionals, a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with over 350 staff. He has led major projects, including the Electrified Double Track Railway (Taiping to Alor Setar) and the Klang Valley MRT Kajang and Putrajaya Lines. He has authored over 100 technical papers.
